Negative Thoughts

Having negative thoughts really could make you more illness-prone, say scientists.

A study in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences links "negative" brain activity with a weakened immune system.

Researchers from the University of Wisconsin-Madison studied people with high levels of brain activity in a region linked to negative thoughts.

Those with the highest activity levels responded worse to a flu vaccine.

Scientists already knew that pessimists - people rated as more sensitive to negative events - show more activity in a part of the brain called the right pre-frontal cortex.

More activity in the left pre-frontal cortex is linked to positive emotional responses.

Happy thoughts

Dr Richard Davidson, who led the research, studied 52 people aged between 57 and 60.

Each of them was asked to recall one event which made them feel very happy, and one which left them feeling sad, afraid or angry.

Emotions play an important role in modulating bodily systems that influence our health ".- Dr Richard Davidson, University of Wisconsin-Madison

The electrical activity in these parts of the brain was measured to check whether their left or right pre-frontal cortex was more active.

Afterwards, each volunteer was given a standard flu vaccine shot.

Vaccines work by eliciting an immune response which should hopefully persist and help the body tackle a genuine infection threat if it should arrive.

Each research subject was tested over the following six months to gauge the success of the vaccine by measuring the levels of antibodies generated by the vaccine.

Those who had shown the most powerful right pre-frontal cortex activity also had the worst immune reactions.

The reverse was true for those who had the most powerful reactions in their left pre-frontal cortex, the side associated with happy reactions.

Dr Davidson said:

"Emotions play an important role in modulating bodily systems that influence our health."

"We turned to the brain to understand the mechanisms by which the mind influences the body."

Thought Power : The Movie in Your Mind

Posted by enchantrezz in ,

Why is it that a lot of people engage their minds easily with unfavorable situations rather than the happy moments?

Why is it that after we go through painful experiences, we play over and over in our minds the same situation that caused the pain?

We reenact that certain moment in our minds, like a broken video player, we playback the drama of our lives in perfect detail that it makes the pain even more unbearable. Then we contemplate and wonder why we always take the same road, and experience all over again the same kind of problem.

Thoughts are incredibly powerful. Anything you mentally focus on, you are attracting in your life. Thoughts have that ultra magnetic power, it attracts the same kind of thoughts, and situations. It brings the same kind of people together.

The known adages, "Birds of the same feather flock together", "Tell me who your friends are and I tell you who you are", the law "Whatever you sow, you shall reap", "What goes round comes around", and The Golden Rule "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you" precisely embodies the Law of Attraction.

Fill your mind with thoughts of prosperity, then you will prosper. Fill your mind with thoughts of success and good health, expect that it will be yours. But if you ponder on difficulties, poverty, sickness, failure, envy, anger, and sadness then you are opening the floodgates of disaster. The Law of Attraction is obedient, what you ask for, you shall receive.

Instead learn to play a movie of loving and unselfish thoughts, gratitude and kindness, perfect health and success, prosperity and abundance, youthfulness and beauty, love and forgiveness then you will live everyday experiencing the miracles of all your desires.

The Law of Attraction

Posted by enchantrezz in ,

Have you ever wondered why your worries or fears come true?

Have you noticed that if you focus on your problems, it expands to great proportions?

Do you know people who constantly whine about having series of bad relationships but find themselves in the same kind of situation over and over again? or perhaps you know people who are amassing mind blowing wealth and enjoying success consistently?

Did you ever question why accidents or unfortunate events always happen to you?

The law of attraction is one of the powerful laws of the universe. Like gravity it is an unseen force that is very real. Whether we are aware of it or not, believe its existence or deny it, it still exists. The Law of Attraction is infinite, in constant motion, and it transcends beyond all boundaries.

This universal law brings all that is happening in your life right now through your THOUGHTS. If you expose your mind over and over again to a certain thought, this law responds and simply mirrors back what you want and you don't want.

How come our thoughts have this incredible power?

Everything in this universe is made up of ENERGY.

Albert Einstein's formula E = mc2 explains the equivalence of matter and energy. It proves that tiny amounts of mass could be converted in to huge amounts of energy. His discovery proved that all things broken down to their most basic form consist of one and the same kind of energy. This energy is Pure Energy which makes up all things.

Simply put, everything that exist whether air, oxygen, emotions, your favorite bag, your lovable dog, your house, your bed, your body, the moon, your five senses, your computer and everything around you, is made up of one kind of energy vibrating at different levels of frequency. So are your THOUGHTS !

Since thought is energy, The Law of Attraction responds to the vibrational frequency of your thoughts. Know that this law is "neutral". It does not question nor filter your thoughts whether it is good or bad. It merely responds and brings you all your dreams, desires, and what you fear most.

Experiences don't happen accidentally and there are no coincidences. Everything in our lives happen for a reason. We are indeed powerful magnets. Whatever our minds focus on consciously or unconsciously, we attract.

"LIKE ATTRACTS LIKE"

Every seed of thought that you send out is an energy that can never be destroyed. It goes on vibrating in every particle of the universe. If you project good and happy thoughts, you are setting the Law of Attraction in motion. You, are commanding this law to provide you conditions that breathes goodness, and happiness. If you carry thoughts of desperation and poverty, expect that the Law of Attraction never fails to bring you the same kind of suffering.

The Enigma

When I was younger I have always wondered how the mind works. It was a mystery to me knowing billions of people in the world have different thoughts and dreams. Why is my mind in constant chatter, why do I hear my thoughts, do people dream vividly in color like me, and why do I always see random pictures in my mind?

Through the years my curiosity expanded from varied questions about thoughts, character, imagination, dreams, to actions, time, experiences, emotions, soul, the spirit, and God. My thoughts rested on the mystery of The Bermuda Triangle, time travel, the Stone henge, extinction of dinosaurs, discovery of the ancient scrolls, the mystery behind the advance culture of the ancients in Egypt, Mexico, Peru and so much more.

Scientific articles, and science books seemed a bunch of garbled alien language that I can't grasp. This turned into a form of quiet desperation. It grew deeper and my need to quench this nagging thirst for knowledge was beyond me.

More than a decade ago, a book by James Redfield 'The Celestine's Prophecy' readily peaked my ever wondering mind. I thought it was just about ancient manuscripts and some kind of insight book, but reading through every page of that book was a rebirth for me. It became my spiritual journey connecting me to the spirits of the ancients, and towards the discovery of my inner-self.

Finally, my inner journey has begun.

A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom, A Toltec Wisdom Book
by Don Miguel Ruiz

Excerpts from the book
Don Miguel Ruiz was born into a family of healers and raised in rural Mexico by a curandera (healer) mother and nagual (shaman) grandfather. The family anticipated don Miguel would embrace their centuries old legacy of healing and teaching and as a nagual, carry forward the esoteric Toltec knowledge.

In the tradition of the Toltec, a Nagual guides an individual to personal freedom. Combining new insights with old wisdom, don Miguel has dedicated his life to sharing the ancient Toltec wisdom by translating it into practical concepts that promote transformation through truth and common sense.

The First Agreement

"Be impeccable with your word"

"Be impeccable with your word". Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.

The Second Agreement

"Don't take anything personally"

"Nothing others do is because of you. What others say or do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to opinion and actions of others you won't be the victim of needless suffering."

The Third Agreement

"Don't make assumptions"

"Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid understandings, sadness, and drama. With just this one agreement you can completely transform your life."

The Fourth Agreement

"Always do your best"

"Your best is going to change from moment to moment, it will be different if you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstances, simply do your best and you will avoid self-judgment, self abuse, and regret."

The Four Agreements offer a powerful code of conduct that can rapidly transform our lives to a new experience of freedom, true happiness, and love.

Ancient Secrets

Posted by enchantrezz in

Years ago, the gift of knowing the Ancient Secrets were revealed to me through people who were drawn in my light during the toughest moments of my life. "Like attracts like" were John's words when he introduced himself to me. The knowledge he shared opened a world I knew nothing of. It was so powerful that it swept me to heights of enlightenment. My insatiable need to know more of the secrets propelled me to seek deeper into the depths of the ancient LAWS OF THE UNIVERSE.

My first teacher

James Allen (November 28, 1864 - January 24, 1912)

James Allen has been called the “literary mystery man” of the twentieth century. He was a philosophical writer of British nationality, known for his inspirational books and poetry. Although his best-selling classic, "As a Man Thinketh", has sold steadily for many decades, inspiring millions around the world to lead more successful lives, little is known about the author himself.

What is known about Allen is that he was born in Leicester, England in 1864. His father was a wealthy businessman who went bankrupt in 1878. A year later, when James was 15, his father was robbed and murdered. James left school to work full-time in different British firms to help support the family. He eventually married and became an executive secretary for a large corporation.

At age 38, Allen retired from employment and he and his wife moved to a small cottage in Ilfracombe, Devon, on the southwest shore of England to pursue a simple life of voluntary simplicity, spiritual self-discipline, and contemplation as taught by his mentor, Russia's great novelist and mystic count Leo Tolstoy. During this period, Allen wrote over 20 works, earning a small stipend from royalties paid on his writing.

He died in 1912 at age 48, a virtual unknown, untouched by fame and unrewarded by fortune. It was only after his death that the world gradually came to recognize the genius and inspiration of this English mystic’s work. The works he left behind are his loving bequest to the world.

James Allen's books illustrate the use of the power of thought to increase personal capabilities. His works have had a lasting influence on the New Thought Movement. Although he never achieved great fame or wealth, his works continue to influence people around the world.
